Adult Choirs
The Chancel Choir

Chancel Choir the main adult choral group at FPC. With a long-standing reputation for excellence, the choir contributes music and assists in leading the 11:15 worship services year round. The Chancel Choir was one of seven church choirs invited to participate in the 2001 Manhattan Festival of Sacred Music in a performance of the Durufle Requiem, given at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine.
In addition to a great number
of sacred anthems which represent all the
eras of the western church's
musical heritage, the Chancel Choir also
regularly presents sacred
masterworks and extended works.
In the last
decade, these have included
Handel's Messiah, Mozart Vesperae Solennes
de Confessore, Requiem, and
Te Deum , Faure Requiem, Bach Magnificat,
Lobet den Herrn, and
Cantatas #
4, 61, and 106, Mendelssohn Hymn
of
Praise, Rutter Gloria,
Dancing Day,
and Te Deum,
Pinkham Christmas
Cantata, Vivaldi Gloria,
Saint Saens Christmas Oratorio, Scheidt
Magnificat, Stainer
Crucifixion, DuBois Seven Last Words of
Christ on
the Cross, Basler Missa
Kenya, and Britten Ceremony of Carols.
No
No audition is required, but a pleasant singing voice and some previous choral experience is helpful. Regular attendance at weekly rehearsals is expected. The choir does not rehearse during the summer months.
Compact disc recordings of the choir "How Can I Keep From Singing?" and "The Messiah" are available for purchase through the church office. The music on this site is from "Church & Chamber" (sold out).

The PrimeTime Singers
The Primetime Singers is a 40-voice
choral group for retired or older adults. They
meet each Wednesday morning, mid-August through
May. This group often sings at the church’s 9:00
worship services, but also serves as traveling
ambassadors, performing for many community
groups and events. The Primetime Singers
also recently hosted the first ever North
Georgia Older Adult Music Festival and we hope
to continue that tradition in coming years.
Interested individuals should note that there are other Wednesday morning ministries available at the church, in addition to the choir. Come and be a part of a growing, caring, and serving community!
