February 10-12

First Presbyterian Church shows the love and healing of Christ to those in need in our state, our nation and across the world by partnering with a variety of benevolences.

 

Every year, our church hosts a World Missions Conference where we hear the stories of missionaries from around the world, sing songs of other cultures, and celebrate the work of God's Kingdom around the world.

HAITI EDUCATIONAL FOUNDATION
Supporting the building of schools and provision of scholarships for students who otherwise would go uneducated in Haiti.

JESUS HOSPITAL, CHURCH/BRUISED REED FOUNDATION (Korea) (PCUSA)
A teaching hospital in Chonju South Korea  supported by the foundation to assist cancer victims.

MEDICAL BENEVOLENCE (a validated mission of the PCUSA)
A validated mission support group of the PCUSA that provides medical supplies and equipment to nearly 1,000 Presbyterian hospitals and clinics around the world.

MEDICAL BENEVOLENCE FOUNDAION (a validated mission of the PCUSA)
Provides hope and healing to those most in need. Working with international church partners, MBF supports healing ministries in more than 100 hospitals and clinics throughout the world.

Underwriting cost of small congregations for conference attendance

THORNWELL HOME (Synod of South Atlantic, PCUSA)
For 136 years the Thornwell Home in South Carolina  has opened her doors to serve children in need.

NAMUMU ORPHANAGE CENTRE— Siavonga (Zambia)
Caring for orphans who have been abandoned or lost their parents to AIDS

NORTHEAST GEORGIA PRESBYTERY
A Christ-centered, inclusive community of faithful and healthy congregations that provides regional mission funds to the needy. 

OUTREACH FOUNDATION (a validated mission of the PCUSA)
Raising funds for special Presbyterian-related missions all over the world. Providing a haven for infants and children under five who have been orphaned, abandoned or put into a crisis situation in the House of Moses, The Bill and Bette Bryant Center and the House of Martha in Lusaka, Zambia.

PRESBYTERIAN FRONTIER FELLOWSHIP (a validated mission of the PCUSA)
Empowers congregations in global partnerships that establish indigenous or “home grown” churches among unreached people groups.

PRESBYERIAN HOMES OF GEORGIA
Benevolent care for Presbyterian Homes' four communities in Georgia. Contribution directly supports the care of residents who have outlived their financial resources. 

PROTESTANT UNIVERISY OF CONGO—KINSHASA
Providing equipment for the new Medical School and annual scholarships for students from rural areas who agree to return there after receiving their medical degrees.

RAHAB’S ROPE
A ministry to empower young, outcast women in India-FPC supports a home-grown missionary to work in this ministry in the slums of Goa, India.

RIVERS OF THE WORLD (ROW)
An international exploration and development organization that targets remote river basins with the gospel and medical missions throughout the world.

ST MARK’S PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH, SIAVONGA, ZAMBIA
FPC’s sister church built and supported by members of FPC over the past three years.

SAMARITAN'S PURSE
A non-denominational mission organization directed by Franklin Graham, building and staffing hospitals in third world countries. 

SOLID ROCK MISSIONS
A non-denominational  group of individuals and organizations that have partnered to provide a community wide medical mission team to a remote area of the Dominican Republic in the name of Jesus Christ.

VERBO CHURCH, PUERTO CABEZAS, NICARAGUA
A strong mission oriented church in Nicaragua that provides literacy training for illiterate individuals from the city. FPC supports a home-grown missionary to work in this ministry.

WYCLIFFE BIBLE TRANSLATORS
Today about 200 million people do not have the Bible in their own language. Wycliffe’s vision is to see the Bible accessible to all people in the language they understand best. To make this vision a reality, Wycliffe also focuses on literacy development, community development and church partnerships.

MINISTRY OF HOPE LESOTHO CHARITABLE TRUST
To care and support families by providing quality infant and child care, facilitate breastfeeding, working with children with disabilities, assisting abandoned or orphaned children to find their families or facilitating adoption when this is not possible.
