Thank you for helping
our Youth Ministry by providing
meals on Sunday nights! This
is an important time of fellowship
with both High School and Middle
School, helping to build friendships
between various ages, learning from
and supporting each other.
Here is what you
need to know:
 |
35 people
|
 |
Provide
main course, side dishes if applicable
and drinks |
 |
Cups,
plates, napkins, utensils and ice are
provided.
|
 |
Dinner is
served from 6:00-6:30
|
 |
If you
have something delivered,
pay in advance.
|
 |
Deliveries need to come to the porte
cochere door (You need to be there to
show them where to take the food)
|
 |
You can
cook in the kitchen if you like.
Use the
Kitchen Checklist
to be sure the kitchen is ok for
inspection the next day.
|
 |
keep your
receipts and either turn them in to your
church account as a donation or if you
need to be reimbursed, give them to Lori
or Shon. |
 |
If you
cannot provide a meal on the date
assigned to you, trade with someone else
but notify Maria Calkins so the right
person will be reminded on the calendar
and website.
|
 |
Call Shon
and Lori several days beforehand to ask
these questions:
1. Enough plates, napkins, cups on
hand?
2. Any special events that will
change the number of people to
feed this week?
3. If you are cooking in the
kitchen, let them know.
|
 |
Clean-up:
Use the
Kitchen Checklist,
sign it and leave it in the kitchen for
pickup Monday morning. Be sure all
doors to the outside into the Fellowship
Hall and outer hallway are closed and
locked.

Anything
good you would like to cook! Maria
Calkins has lots of ideas and the kids
really like home style food!
|
Optional/additional items you may need to
consider: vegetable platter with Ranch dip, Mac
and Cheese, Pickles, chips, dessert, condiments,
salad dressings, slaw, baked beans, salad,
fruit, other side dishes, relishes, etc.
Other
helpful hints:
• To keep from running out of food, we highly
recommend that you serve each plate and just
remind the kids to come back for seconds if they
want after everyone has been served.
• For 35 people you will need 3 big bags of
plain potato chips, 5 two liter sodas (Coke, D.
Coke, Sprite, Cherry Coke, Sierra Mist, Dr.
Pepper Orange Fanta are the favorites but you
can bring store brand as well) Consider
bringing lemonade, sports drinks, tea etc.
• Plan to have everything ready no later than
6:00 so that other activities after supper will
begin on time.
• Still feel lost? Call Maria Calkins or
any other youth parent. We'll be glad to
answer questions and give suggestions.
