David joined FPC Gainesville from First Presbyterian Church, Bakerstown, Pennsylvania, where he served for eight years. One of his passions is working with young families and developing the “partnership between home and church.”

David was born in Brunswick, Georgia, one of four brothers (he has an identical twin) and one sister. He grew up on a dairy farm in South Georgia, and felt a call into the ministry by the age of 16. David obtained his Bachelor of Arts Degree in English from Presbyterian College, Clinton, South Carolina. He earned a Master of Divinity Degree from Columbia Theological Seminary, Decatur, Georgia, and a Doctor of Ministry Degree from McCormick Theological Seminary, Chicago, Illinois. David has served churches in Laurens, South Carolina, and Clover, South Carolina. Prior to his service at Bakerstown, he was Senior Associate Pastor at Peachtree Presbyterian in Atlanta where, among other responsibilities, he served as Head of Staff. When he is not at work, David enjoys time with his family, fishing, reading, and following the “Dawgs”! 

David and his wife Frances have three children— Kelly and her husband Patrick of Dalton, Georgia; Todd of Anniston, Alabama; and Philip, who just completed college at the University of Alabama.
