The Chancel Choir

Chancel Choir — the main
adult choral group at FPC. With a long-standing reputation for excellence, the
choir contributes music and assists in leading the 9:45 worship service year
round. The Chancel Choir was one of seven church choirs invited to participate
in the 2001 Manhattan Festival of Sacred Music in a performance of the Durufle
Requiem, given at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine.

No audition is required, but a pleasant singing voice and some previous choral
experience is helpful. Regular attendance at weekly rehearsals is expected. The
choir does not rehearse during the summer months.
Compact disc recordings of the choir— "How Can I Keep From Singing?" and "The
Messiah"— are available for purchase through the church office.

The Primetime Singers
The Primetime Singers is a 40-voice choral group for
retired or older adults. They meet each Wednesday morning, mid-August through
May. Not only do they sing for occasional worship services,
the Primetime singers also
serve as traveling ambassadors, performing for many community groups and events.
They have hosted several Older Adult Music Festivals and have
performed in Charleston, SC and at Montreat for the denomination's Older Adult
Conference.
Interested individuals should note
that there are other Wednesday morning ministries available at the church, in
addition to the choir. Come and be a part of a growing, caring
and serving
community!
Chancel Ensemble
Membership in the Canticum Novum Ensemble is by invitation of the Director of Music.
Canticum Novum means "New Song".
